PEMANFAATAN SAMPAH ORGANIK SEBAGAI BIOHANDSANITIZER DAN BIODESINFEKTAN BERBASIS ECO-COMMUNITY UNTUK MENCEGAH PENYEBARAN VIRUS CORONA

Covid-19 telah menyebar secara luas keseluruh dunia melaluli perantara manusia ke manusia. Upaya memutus mata rantai penyebaran virus tersebut salah satunya dengan menjalankan perilaku hidup sehat dengan menjaga kebersihan diri dan lingkungan. Upaya tersebut dimulai dari tingkatan rumah tangga melalui suatu komunitas peduli lingkungan Bale Riung yang kemudian dikenal dengan  “Bale Riung Eco Community (BREC). Kegiatan diawali dengan fermentasi sampah organik buah dan sayuran untuk menghasilkan eco enzyme. Setelah itu eco enzyme dibuat biohandsanitizer dan biodesinfektan. Pengurangan sampah organik mulai terlihat sebagai dampak positif pengolahan sampah organik tersebut. Masyarakat sudah mulai menggunakan biodesinfektan untuk mengepel lantai, mencuci bak mandi dan membersihkan kaca. Tidak ditemukan indikasi adanya iritasi kulit setelah penggunaan biohandsanitizer. Lingkungan rumah menjadi lebih bersih dan segar serta terbebas dari gangguan serangga yang membahayakan kesehatan. Kandungan asam asetat (H3COOH) dalam eco enzyme dapat membunuh kuman, virus dan bakteri. Sedangkan kandungan enzyme lipase, tripsin, amilase mampu membunuh /mencegah bakteri patogen.
