INCREASING LEARNING MOTIVATION, LEARNING DISCIPLINE AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS THROUGH THE USE OF IPS LEARNING VIDEO MEDIA IN CLASS VII C STUDENTS SMP NEGERI 1 PAKEM, SLEMAN, YOGYAKARTA

This research aims to 1) increase learning motivation through the use of social studies learning video media for students in Class VII C of SMP Negeri 1 Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta for the 2023/2024 academic year, 2) increase learning discipline through the use of social studies learning video media for students in class VII C of SMP Negeri 1 Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta for the 2023/2024 academic year. 3) improving critical thinking skills through the use of social studies learning video media for Class VII C students at SMP Negeri 1 Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta for the 2023/2024 academic year.
This research uses classroom action research. The research subjects were 32 students in class VII C of SMP Negeri 1 Pakem, consisting of 16 men and 16 women. Data collection techniques use observation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive techniques with percentages.
The results of the research concluded that 1) Increased learning motivation through social studies learning video media in class VII C students of SMP Negeri 1 Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta for the 2023/2024 academic year, this was proven in the pre-cycle of students who had a minimum good learning motivation category, there were 15 students (46.88%), increased in Cycle I to 20 students (62.50%), and in Cycle II to 27 students (84.38%). 2) Increasing learning discipline through social studies learning video media for class VII C students at SMP Negeri 1 Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta for the 2023/2024 academic year, this was proven in the pre-cycle of students who reached the minimum good category, there were 19 students (59.38%) , increased in Cycle I to 21 students (65.63%), and in Cycle II to 27 students (84.38%). 3) Improving critical thinking skills through social studies learning video media for class VII C students at SMP Negeri 1 Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta for the 2023/2024 academic year, this was proven before the cycle of students who reached the minimum good category, there were 19 students (59.38%) , increased in Cycle I to 24 students (75%), and in Cycle II to 27 students (87.50%).
