META ANALYSIS: THE ROLE OF TEACHERS IN INCREASING STUDENTS' INTEREST IN SOCIAL SCIENCE (IPS) SUBJECTS

Teachers are one of the noble professions that play an important role in a person's education, one of the most important roles of teachers is to increase student interest in the subjects they teach, this is important because it is a determining factor in the success of the learning they teach, this interest can reflect interest and make a major contribution and encouragement of students to the smooth running of learning activities when taking place. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of teachers in increasing student interest in social science subjects. The research method used is metaanalysis research by means of descriptive analysis, the data collection technique is carried out by searching for Indonesian / English literature obtained from google or google scholar. The results of this study obtained 7 articles, which examined how the role of teachers in increasing student interest in social science subjects. With the conclusion that in increasing students' interest in social studies, teachers must play a role in preparing lessons, acting as informators, organisers, motivators, facilitators, mentors, demonstrators, mediators, and evaluators. In addition, teachers must also use a variety of learning methods including singing, using media in learning, using books and teaching materials that vary, to lecture methods and Problem Based Learning (PBL) and others.
