EFFORTS TO ENHANCE IPS LEARNING OUTCOMES THROUGH THE THINK PAIR SHARE LEARNING MODEL

Abstract

This research aims to 1) determine whether the use of the think pair share type active learning model can improve the learning outcomes of class IV students, 2) improve social studies learning outcomes through the think pair share type active learning model for class IV. This research was carried out at SD Negeri 20 Tual. The subjects in this research were class IV students at SD Negeri 20 Tual, totaling 23 students. This type of research is classroom action research. Data collection techniques in this research used questionnaires and observation sheets. The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive with percentages. The results of the research show that 1) Using the Think pair share type Active Social Studies learning model can improve the learning outcomes of class IV students by implementing the Think pair share learning model in accordance with the steps of the TPS learning model, namely the preliminary stage. , thinking stage, pairing with your seatmate, sharing stage with other pairs, giving awards, and ending with closing. 2) Increased social studies learning outcomes through the think pair share type active learning model for class IV as evidenced by the increase in social studies learning outcomes in the pre-cycle with an average score of 75.74 and 13 students (56.52 %) students achieving the KKM score increased in cycle I with an average score of 79.43 and 17 students (73.91%) achieved the KKM score and in Cycle II it increased with an average score of 83.26 and students who achieved the KKM score ≥ 78 as many as 20 students (83.26). This means that the achievement of learning outcomes is in accordance with previously determined success indicators.
