TRADITION OF CLAN DECLINE/NONO T-SHIRT IN COMMUNITY TRADITIONAL WEDDING CEREMONIES

This research aims to determine the implementation process Nono t-shirt in a traditional wedding ceremony in Naioni Village, Alak District, Kupang City and find out the meaning and function Nono t-shirt as well as customary sanctions received as a result of violating customary principles. This research is qualitative research. The data collection technique is from primary data in the form of observation, interviews and questionnaires. Meanwhile, secondary data is in the form of picture or photo documentation with informants and other written data related to the problem being researched from the Naioni sub-district office. The data analysis technique used in this research is qualitative analysis by collecting data, data reduction, data presentation and the final step of conclusions. The results of this research are first, process Nono t-shirt begins with initial preparations then continues with oko lipa and puah manus (Tanokab Noni Bijael) and the peak of the ritual Nono t-shirt. Second, the meaning and function of carrying out traditions Nono t-shirt namely marking a shift in tradition for beef noni to create social harmony, protect the family from disaster, and give recognition and honor to women who enter their husband's family. These three applications of sanctions in the Kaos nono custom play an important role in maintaining norms and balance in society. Families who do not complete the ritual Nono T-shirt face various serious consequences, including loss of inheritance rights, the return of their wives' bodies to their families of origin, and their unequal rights to their daughters' dowries.
