Menyelesaikan Soal Cerita Melalui Strategi Pemecahan Masalah dari Polya

Abstrak
Banyak orang yang memandang matematika adalah sebagai bidang studi yang paling sulit. Meskipun demikian, semua orang harus mempelajarinya karena merupakan sarana untuk memecahkan masalah kehidupan sehari-hari Kesulitan siswa dalam mempelajari matematika terletak pada sulitnya siswa menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika. Salah satu upaya mengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita adalah guru dapat menerapkan strategi pemecahan masalah dalam pembelajaran matematika. Salah satu strategi pemecahan masalah yang dapat di gunakan untuk menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika adalah strategi pemecahan masalah dari Polya. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) untuk mengetahui siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pada pokok bahasan pecahan sebelum diterapkan strategi pemecahan masalah dari polya, 2) untuk mengetahui proses pelaksnaan strategi pemecahan masalah dari polya dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada pokok bahasan pecahan, 3) untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada pokok bahasan pecahan setelah diterapkan strategi pemecahan masalah dari polya.

Abstract
Many people view mathematics as the most difficult field of study. Nonetheless, everyone should learn it because it is a means to solve the problems of everyday life The difficulty of students in learning mathematics lies in the difficulty of students solving mathematical story problems. One of the efforts to overcome students' difficulties in solving story problems is that teachers can apply problem-solving strategies in mathematics learning. One of the problem-solving strategies that can be used to solve math story problems is the problem-solving strategy from Polya. The objectives of this study are: 1).to find out students in solving problems on fractional subjects before applying problem solving strategies from polya, 2) to find out the process of implementing problem-solving strategies from polya in solving story problems on fractional subjects, 3) to find out the ability of students to solve story problems on fractional subjects after applying problem-solving strategies from polya.
