Motivasi dan Makna Mengikuti Media Sosial Instagram Katolikmedia bagi Orang Muda Katolik

Abstrak
Penggunaan media sosial sebagai sebuah sarana untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari tentu bukanlah fenomena yang asing lagi. Hampir setiap orang pernah mempunyai pengalaman saat memanfaatkan media sosial guna memenuhi kebutuhan hidup mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui motivasi dan makna Orang Muda Katolik ketika mengikuti akun intagram katolikmedia. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teori Uses and Gratification yang mencoba untuk melihat motivasi audiens dalam menggunakan media sosial. Subjek penelitian ini adalah Orang Muda Katolik yang menjadi followers akun instagram katolikmedia. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dua poin penting. Pertama, Orang Muda Katolik tertarik untuk mengikuti instagram katolikmedia karena adanya kebutuhan untuk mendapatkan informasi dan inspirasi mengenai iman katolik. Kedua, minat dan ketertarikan Orang Muda Katolik pada akun instagram katolikmedia karena isi konten ditampilkan dengan kreatif dan menarik.

Abstract
The use of social media as a means to meet daily needs is certainly not a foreign phenomenon. Almost everyone has had experience when using social media to fulfill their life needs. The purpose of this study was to find out the motivation and meaning of Catholic Young People when following the catholicmedia instagram account. This study uses Uses and Gratification Theory which tries to see the audience's motivation in using social media. The subjects of this research are Catholic Young People who are followers of the catholicmedia instagram account. The data collection technique used interviews and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study show two important points. First, young Catholics are interested in following the catholic media instagram because of the need to get information and inspiration about the catholic faith. Second, the interest and interest of young Catholics in the Catholic Media Instagram account because the content is displayed creatively and attractively.
