Upaya Diplomasi Pertahanan Indonesia ke luar negeri dilakukan pada tahun 1959. Penelitian ini menganalisis mengenai upaya diplomasi pertahanan Indonesia ke luar negeri melalui Misi Yani yang dipimpin oleh Jenderal TNI (Kolonel Inf). Ahmad Yani dengan mengunjungi beberapa negara di benua Eropa, Amerika, dan Asia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan apa saja alutsista yang dimiliki oleh TNI pada masa itu dan apa saja alutsista yang berhasil dibeli oleh Jenderal TNI (Kolonel Inf.) Ahmad Yani saat melakukan misi tersebut. Pendekatan yang digunakan yakni Neo-Realis dengan konsep kepentingan nasional, diplomasi pertahanan, dan kebijakan luar negeri. Peneliti menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara, studi pustaka, dan observasi. Upaya Diplomasi Pertahanan yang dilakukan oleh Indonesia melalui Misi Yani adalah dengan mengunjungi negara-negara baik Blok Barat maupun Blok Timur diantaranya Yugoslavia, Cekoslovakia, Swedia, Denmark, Inggris, Perancis, Italia, Polandia, Jerman Barat, Amerika Serikat, dan Pakistan.

Abstract

The effort of Indonesian defense diplomacy to visit foreign countries was done in 1959. This research is presents about the effort of the Indonesian defense diplomacy by Misi Yani abroad, led by General (Colonel) Ahmad Yani and visited several countries in Europe, America, and Asia continent. The purpose of this research is to describethe military equipment that owned by TNI on that period and also to identify what kind of military equipment that bought by General (Colonel) Ahmad Yani during that mission. The approach of this research is using Neo-Realist with the concept of national interest, defense diplomacy, and foreign policy. Researcher used qualitative method to collect the data and do interview, study of literature, and observation. The effort of Indonesian Defense Diplomacy did by Indonesia and Misi Yani was visited Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Denmark, England, France, Italy, Poland, West Germany, United States, and Pakistan.
