Analisis Peran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan Sebagai Mata Kuliah Pengembang Kepribadian dan Karakter di Perguruan Tinggi

Abstrak
Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) di perguruan tinggi memiliki peran penting dalam pengembangan kepribadian dan karakter mahasiswa. PKn bertujuan untuk menanamkan rasa nasionalisme, cinta tanah air, serta nilai dan etika Pancasila pada setiap warga negara muda. Penelitian ini menyoroti peran penting Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) sebagai mata kuliah yang berperan dalam pengembangan kepribadian dan karakter di perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tinjauan pustaka atau literature review dengan mengumpulkan berbagai literatur yang terkait dengan topik penelitian yang sedang diteliti. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan kewarganegaraan memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter dan kepribadian mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi. Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan di universitas menerapkan pendekatan proses ilmiah dan model pembelajaran yang mengarah pada internalisasi nilai-nilai karakter. Tujuan utamanya adalah untuk menjamin setiap warga negara muda menjadi warga negara yang baik dan ideal dengan dibekali kesadaran kebangsaan, demokrasi, dan cinta tanah air dalam konteks nilai dan etika Pancasila. Dengan penerapan metode pembelajaran yang tepat, PKn dapat membantu siswa mengembangkan sikap positif, kesadaran kebangsaan, dan kontribusi yang positif kepada masyarakat. Dengan demikian, pendidikan kewarganegaraan diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam pembentukan generasi muda yang memiliki karakter dan kepribadian yang baik serta berkomitmen pada nilai-nilai kebangsaan.

Abstract
Civic Education in higher education has an important role in developing the personality and character of students. Civics Education aims to instill a sense of nationalism, love for the country, and the values and ethics of Pancasila in every young citizen. This research highlights the important role of Civics Education (Civics) as a course that plays a role in the development of personality and character in higher education. This research uses a literature review method by collecting various literatures related to the research topic under study. The results of this study indicate that civic education has an important role in shaping the character and personality of students in higher education. Civic Education in universities applies a scientific process approach and learning models that lead to the internalization of character values. The main goal is to ensure that every young citizen becomes a good and ideal citizen equipped with national awareness, democracy, and love for the country in the context of Pancasila values and ethics. With the application of appropriate learning methods, Civics Education can help students develop positive attitudes, national awareness, and positive contributions to society. Thus, civic education is expected to make a significant contribution to the formation of a young generation that has good character and personality as well as a positive contribution to society
