Film Toba Dreams; Sebuah Janji Cinta merupakan film yang disutradarai oleh Benni setiawan, dan diproduseri oleh Rizaludin Kurniawan dengan mengadaptasi novel Toba Dreams gubahan mantan Menteri Negara Pendayagunaan Aparatur Negara di Kabinet Pembangunan VI semasa Presiden Soeharto TB Silalahi. Sersan TB Silalahi menulis novel Toba Dreams bertujuan agar pesan dan makna di dalam novel di ketahui oleh keluarga Indonesia dan generasi muda bahwa perlunya komunikasi orang tua dan anak terjalin baik agar tidak ada kesalahpahaman, jangan terlibat kedalam dunia narkoba dan memberitahu bahaya narkoba, serta pentingnya andil kita dalam kelestarian lingkungan. Berangkat dari tujuan yang ingin di sampaikan oleh Sersan TB. Maka, peneliti tertarik untuk mengetahui ide- ide yang terkandung dalam film Toba Dreams, serta mengetahui nilai moral dalam film Toba Dreams dan relevansinya dengan kearifan lokal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis isi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi terhadap film dan studi literatur terkait teori semantik. Analisis semantik memungkinkan identifikasi makna melalui dialog, adegan, dan simbol-simbol visual dalam. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan maka dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa dalam film Toba Dreams terdapat nilai-nilai moral yang bisa diketahui, diantaranya; (1) nilai moral kepada Tuhan; beribadah, (2) nilai moral terhadap diri sendiri; bertanggung jawab, (3) nilai moral terhadap sesama manusia; toleransi beragama, (4) nilai moral kepada lingkungan; menjaga kebersihan. Konsep moral yang terdapat dalam film Toba Dreams relevan dengan kearifan lokal.

Abstract

Toba Dreams; A Promise of Love is a film directed by Benni Setiawan, and produced by Rizaludin Kurniawan by adapting the novel Toba Dreams composed by the former Minister of State for Administrative Reform in the VI Development Cabinet during President Soeharto TB Silalahi. Sergeant TB Silalahi wrote the novel Toba Dreams with the aim that the message and meaning in the novel be known by Indonesian families and the younger generation that the need for good communication between parents and children so that there are no misunderstandings, do not get involved in the world of drugs and tell the dangers of drugs, and the importance of our contribution to environmental sustainability. Departing from the objectives that Sgt. TB wants to convey. So, researchers are interested in knowing the ideas contained in the movie Toba Dreams, as well as knowing the moral values in the movie Toba Dreams and its relevance to local wisdom. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with a content analysis approach. Data was collected through observation of the movie and literature study related to semantic theory. Semantic analysis allows the identification of meaning through dialog, scenes, and visual symbols. From the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that in the film Toba Dreams there are moral values that can be known, including; (1) moral value to God; worship, (2) moral value to oneself; responsible, (3) moral value to fellow humans; religious tolerance, (4) moral value to the environment; keep clean. The moral concept contained in the movie Toba Dreams is relevant to local wisdom.
