Abstract

Background: Beluntas was a plant that is easy to grow and obtained by the community and is usually used for fresh vegetables and traditional medicine since ancient times.

Objective: This section describes the objectives of the study

Method: The identification of phytochemical screening of beluntas leaves revealed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and alkaloids. The test of antioxidant activity was performed using the DPPH method as free radical and vitamin C as a comparison.

Results: The average IC50 value of beluntas leaves in 70% ethanol solvent is 94.06 ppm, in ethyl acetate is 150.55 ppm, and vitamin C is 17.14 ppm.

Conclusion: This indicates that there are differences in the antioxidant activity of beluntas leaves.
