Open Access Policy

Full Open Access
KARMAWIBHANGGA: Historical Studies Journal operates a gold open access model. All articles are freely available to read, download, copy, and share immediately upon publication, with no embargo.

License & Reuse
Unless otherwise stated, articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. Users may reuse and adapt the work, including for commercial purposes, provided proper attribution is given to the authors and the journal as the place of first publication, and any derivatives are distributed under the same license.

Copyright & Author Rights
Copyright remains with the authors. Authors grant the journal the right of first publication and may: (a) reproduce and share the article for academic/professional purposes; (b) deposit the Version of Record in institutional/personal repositories with a full citation to the journal.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

  • Amount: IDR 300,000 per accepted article.

  • When payable: After acceptance and before production scheduling.

  • Covers: editorial & peer-review management, similarity check, DOI registration, light language editing, typesetting, OJS hosting, and long-term preservation (e.g., PKP PN/LOCKSS where available).

  • No other fees: No submission, page, or color charges.

  • Payment instructions: An invoice and payment details (bank transfer or payment link) will be sent with the acceptance email.

Waiver/Discount Policy
Fee waivers/discounts (up to 100%) are available for unfunded authors, students, and authors from low-income institutions. Requests must be made at submission with a brief justification. Waiver decisions are independent from editorial decisions.

Refunds
APCs are non-refundable once an article enters production or is published. If the journal cancels publication for editorial reasons after payment, a full refund will be provided. Overpayments/duplicate payments will be refunded.

Self-Archiving
Authors may deposit preprints, postprints, and/or the published version in repositories without embargo, provided accurate metadata and citation to the journal are included.

Funder Compliance
Authors must ensure compliance with funder open-access mandates. If a different license is required, contact the editors prior to publication.

Data & Supporting Materials
We encourage sharing datasets/archival materials where ethically and legally permissible. Include a Data Availability Statement in the manuscript.
