Makna dalam Tembang Mocopat yang ada dalam serat  wulang-reh  bertujuan untuk mendidik manusia yang berbudi luhur,  berjiwa  kesatria,  santun  dan beradab sehingga di era globalisasi ini dapat berperilaku sesuai dengan sila-sila yang ada dalam Pancasila termasuk pengamalannya. Setiap tembang mempunyai makna tentang penjalanan hidup manusia dari lahir sampai akhir hayatnya. Berperilaku tidak sombong menjauhkan rasa ego atau aku menajamkan mata  batin, menyadarkan manusia yang penuh keterbatasan  sebagai  makhluk  Tuhan, ini semua tersirat dan tersurat dalam ajaran serat wulangreh melalui tembang mocopat. Dengan mempelajari serta mengamalkan ajaran ini dapat membentuk manusia berkarakter sehingga serat  pula  mewujudkan  manusia  yang  beradab dan berkarakter.

Abstract

The essence of Mocopat song as depicted in wulang-reh composition purports to educate human with good character, brave, genteel and civilized, who is able to face the globalization challenge with consistent adherence to Pancasila values and experiences. Each part of the song possesses a meaningful story about human journey since birth to death. Avoiding arrogance attitude and liberating the self from ego can help to sharpen intuition while maintain human personal awareness as God’s creatures riddled with limitations, and all these both literally and figuratively can be found in the teaching of wulangreh and through mocopat song. By learning to practice this lesson human can furnish his character with nobility, and the composition helps him to be even more civilized.
