Abstrak

Walaupun pelaku profesi telah memiliki kode etik profesi sebagai standar moral, wacana pemikiran tentang kode etik profesi pengawas pendidikan berangkat dari kenyataan bahwa pengawas pendidikan masih mengabaikan nilai-nilai moral dan kurangnya kesadaran yang kuat untuk mengindahkan etika profesi ketika memberikan layanan keahlian profesional kepada guru. Salah satu jawaban agar pendidik tetap mahir dalam mendidik adalah dengan menjaga akhlak, keterampilan dan kedisiplinan yang mengesankan. Pada prinsipnya, nilai-nilai moral tanggung jawab, keadilan, kemandirian, dan integritas moral yang mendasari kepribadian profesional termuat dalam kode etik profesi pengawas. Kode etik profesi pengawas pendidikan pada dasarnya sejalan dengan nilai-nilai Islam karena etika profesi tidak dapat dipisahkan dari nilai-nilai etika Islam yang dilandasi pemahaman dari al-Qur'an dan hadits.
