Abstract

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has led to a variety of new technological innovations, one of which is Smart Contracts. Smart Contracts, commonly known as intelligent contracts, are contracts that are executed automatically according to the conditions written in the program code. They operate on blockchain technology, ensuring that all transactions and conditions executed are transparent, secure, and immutable. One of the selling points of Smart Contracts is their ability to automate and enforce terms without the need for human intervention. Through the Blockchain system, parties do not need to know or trust each other to interact. Electronic transactions can be automatically verified and recorded by a network of computers using cryptographic algorithms. Currently, the adoption of Smart Contracts in Indonesia is still in its early stages, with regulations focusing more on crypto assets. Various sectors, such as banking and logistics, have begun to explore this technology. However, there are still significant challenges, such as a lack of understanding, a shortage of experts, and potential bugs. Therefore, to enhance the adoption of Smart Contracts in Indonesia, it is important for the government and relevant authorities to develop specific regulations that support the use of this technology while ensuring user security and protection. Additionally, collaboration between the government, industry, and academia is also needed to create a conducive ecosystem for the development of Smart Contract technology in Indonesia.
