Pemanfaatan internet yang semakin meluas dalam berbagai aktivitas kehidupan manusia menunjukkan keberadaan masyarakat informasi. Hal ini ditandai dengan banyaknya penggunaan media elektronik khususnya dalam hal bertransaksi. Kegiatan jual beli yang dilakukan di media elektronik, juga dikenal sebagai "e-commerce", melibatkan perjanjian yang diatur dalam hukum perdata, dan pelaksanaannya seringkali menghasilkan masalah yang menyebabkan kerugian bagi banyak pihak. Bagaimanakah proses penyelesaiannya jika terjadi permasalahan terhadap transaksi online antara penjual dan konsumen? Berdasarkan pernyataan tersebut, fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk membahas dan menemukan solusi efektif dalam menyelesaikan sengketa yang timbul antara konsumen dan penjual dalam transaksi online, serta untuk memahami dan mengoptimalkan perlindungan hukum khususnya bidang hukum perdata terhadap konsumen.

Abstract

The widespread use of the Internet in various activities of human life indicates the existence of the information society. It is characterized by the abundant use of electronic media especially in terms of transactions. Purchasing activities carried out in electronic media, also known as "e-commerce", involve agreements governed by civil law, and their implementation often leads to problems that cause losses to many parties. How is the settlement process if there is a problem with online transactions between the seller and the consumer? Based on the statement, the focus of the research is to discuss and find effective solutions in resolving disputes arising between consumers and sellers in online transactions, as well as to understand and optimize legal protection in particular in the field of civil law against consumers.
