THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TOURISM VILLAGE BASED ON LOCAL WISDOM

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the development of tourism villages based on local wisdom in Indonesia. The method used in this research is a literature review, which includes the analysis of various literature related to the efforts of developing tourism villages and local wisdom. The main focus of this development includes four aspects of local wisdom: promoting traditional ceremonies, developing handicrafts as souvenirs for tourists, preserving traditional farming culture, and involving local residents as tour guides. Promoting traditional ceremonies aims to attract tourists while preserving local culture. Developing handicrafts as souvenirs not only increases community income but also introduces the richness of local culture. Preserving traditional farming culture serves as an educational tourism attraction that showcases local wisdom in natural resource management. The involvement of local residents as tour guides ensures that the information conveyed to tourists is accurate and authentic, and provides economic opportunities for the local community. The results of this study are expected to provide insights into effective strategies for developing tourism villages based on sustainable local wisdom that benefits the local community.
