Abstrak

Pulau Madura telah dikenal sejak lama sebagai Pulau penghasil garam. Industri garam di Madura diketahui mulai masuk pada abad ke-19. Di bawah kebijakan monopoli garam yang diberlakukan oleh Pemerintah Kolonial Belanda, kesejahteraan petani garam mengalami peningkatan. Pasca Indonesia merdeka, euforia kebebasan dan nasionalisme mewarnai hampir seluruh wilayah di Indonesia, termasuk Pulau Madura Sebagai sebuah Pulau yang diketahui cukup produktif pada masa Pemerintahan Kolonial Belanda, Madura menjadi salah satu Pulau yang diperjuangkan oleh Pemerintah Indonesia. Keberadaan Perusahaan Garam milik Pemerintah Kolonial Belanda menjadi salah satu penyebab utamanya. Tujuan dari Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Dinamika Industri Garam di Madura setelah Indonesia Merdeka tahun 1950-1975. Artikel ini memperlihatkan bahwa di bawah Pemerintah Indonesia, Industri Garam di Madura justru mengalami penurunan.
